Basic Formula References

Duct Area:

Area = Width × Height for rectangular duct, or πD² / 4 for round duct.

Velocity:

Velocity = Airflow / Area

Total Pressure Drop:

Total Pressure Drop = Straight duct friction loss + fitting pressure loss + equipment/accessory losses.
